What Will 2012 Bring?
By Richard A. Mandahl
That is a big question on an even bigger topic in the ever-changing world of science and research. So we’ll limit our focus to the technology developments UNIConnect predicts will help enable and drive scientific innovation in 2012:
- Advances in genomic science will continue to accelerate and contribute to new innovation in human health, nutrition, and biofuel research and development. UNIConnect has demonstrated success and leadership in all of these areas, and is helping genomic science labs drive change and innovation.
- Pharma will continue to seek out new partnerships and new sources for innovation, incorporating the work of entrepreneurial biotechs into their acquisition portfolios and product pipelines. As downsizing, layoffs, mergers and acquisitions continue to create market uncertainty, “business-as- usual” will give way to transformation mandates. And every organization will need to determine what that means, and how they should proceed. UNIFlow enabled organizations are able to respond to ongoing change because of the dynamic, client empowering capabilities inherent to the UNIFLow Platform.
- The FDA will continue to advance its Regulatory Science strategy as they respond to the need for more approvals without increasing risks. UNIConnect supports clients along the entire discovery to delivery continuum – with improved compliance and electronic documentation at every step to help expedite success.
- Patient advocacy groups, with added support from organizations such as FasterCures, will accelerate their efforts to drive new innovation into clinical deployment across an ever-widening spectrum of disease fronts. UNIConnect continues to seek partnerships with organizations committed to making progress on many disease and disorder fronts. UNIConnect technologies are designed to assist those who are committed to “saving lives by saving time”.
- The convergence of biotech, pharma, and medical device product development will continue to accelerate, broadening the opportunity for patients to derive new therapeutic benefits, and intensifying the need for the FDA to deliver on its stated course for modernization. UNIFlow will be increasingly deployed to support global partnerships and collaborations between corporate, academic, and public sector innovators and regulators.
As global issues are brought into focus, the persistent need for quality healthcare and proper nutrition for all of humanity is glaringly apparent. Sustainable solutions depend on increasingly global efforts. UNIConnect will be steadfast in its commitment to support great organizations engaged in noble pursuits, with the more powerful and adaptive scientific process management software solutions available today… and into the future.
What technology will support the requirements of these demanding developments?
While there is no simple solution, UNIConnect will continue on our mission of enabling labs to respond, adapt and succeed. And we’ll continue to prove, one customer at a time, that we are a part of their future as we support life-changing innovation.
